Every corner in this house, every closet and every shelf, all of it is covered or filled beyond capacity with clutter.
I got this awesome new hutch for the kitchen the other day,
and for the first time... well, basically the first time since we've moved in, the kitchen doesn't look completely haphazard and disorganized. The hutch makes the kitchen look nice for a change! And by comparison, the rest of the house looks even junkier.
I want to just throw away all the junk and make a clean start.
But I'm pretty sure that would give my husband a panic attack. He'll deny it, but getting rid of stuff makes him queasy.
I like to blame the kids, the house, the lack of space, the lack of adequate storage furniture... but what it comes down to is that we have way too much junk (and not enough nice storage furniture. I want less little pieces of toys and random crap and more quality furniture pieces to organize it so the crap is not so random).
I took a photo of our ridiculously over-stuffed-to-the-point-of-uselessness hall closet. The goal is to clean it out so that it will be useful space. I'm not sharing the photo until there is an "after" shot to go alongside it. Someday...
