You know all those not-so-awful things about having a sick child I listed earlier? Each item is at its most extreme opposite when Mommy is sick and the children are healthy. Fortunately I seem to have recovered more quickly than Iris!

I am becoming so addicted to couponing that I have a hard time remembering that I don't HAVE to get stuff just because it's cheap. I'm still trying to learn my way through it, and I am actually enjoying the challenge (a lot more than I thought I would). However, I have found a website that only lists sales + coupons that make items free or less than $1. I believe this will satisfy the urge to keep couponing when I don't need to, without breaking the budget. I'm such a dork.

After FPU this week, I realized a potential budget danger-zone that I had not previously considered. Dinnertime. From about 3pm till bedtime, the kids generally drive me bonkers and there are many days that I just can't muster up the energy (or the free time) to cook dinner and do the dishes. Timm doesn't get home till 10pm and I am usually on my own with the tots. There have been many times that I have ordered pizza or gone through a drive thru just to avoid the chaos of dinner prep and cleanup. Either something needs to change (suck it up and barrel through it with earplugs in) or I need to start an envelope for Meltdown budget...

Iris is still sleeping in our bedroom. The kids have both been sleeping like total champs lately (going to bed at 7:30 and not making a peep till after 7am. Well, Iris has gotten into the habit of waking up at 4:30am since she was sick, but I'm sure that'll change). It's blissful. But I'm faced with a tough choice. Should I move Iris back into her room with Asher?? I am almost completely certain that if I move her back, all of this blissful slumber will crumble and we'll be left with, yet again, two tired sleepless children and two very frustrated sleepless parents. I'm leaning toward keeping her in our room till we can move to a house with a third bedroom. Or forever.
Share that web-site with the $1 and under deals!...please.
ReplyDeleteDo you think both kids in the same room would work if you put Iris in after Asher was asleep? (I'm no parent, so take my question with the appropriate grain of salt ;-))
I became a FB fan of "Grocery Shop for Free" http://www.facebook.com/#!/GroceryShopForFREE and I knew it was love when they posted a list of things that could be purchased at Target (my favorite store!) for free or under a dollar. I get the impression they do this weekly (every time a new ad comes out). Right now there are deals for Target, Walmart, and CVS
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll listen to anyone's opinion, parent or not, with the sleeping stuff!
