can you guess the three "P"s of this post?

I took Iris and Asher to the park for the first time this year.  The sun was shining and it felt to be near 50 degrees.  There was very little, if any, wind which made for a comfortable afternoon, even without a coat on (for the first time in how long???).  We pulled up and it was a pretty humorous sight... I wish I'd brought the camera (silly me):  all the snow on the grass and pretty much everywhere had melted, but on the playground surface itself there was at least 2 inches of snow (more in some areas, less in others)!  It was a pretty amazing (and unfortunate) sight:  the snow perfectly contained within the poured concrete parameters of the playgound... I guess snow melts more slowly on woodchips.  Iris had worn her canvas high-tops and I had worn my backless clogs, totally inappropriate snow footwear!  But we played anyway.  Asher got to experience the swings for the first time, and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself.  He was less sure of the slide, which he went down both with his sister, and on his own (with my hands on him, of course).  Before we left, Iris wanted to take a walk, so we strolled along the walking trail for a few minutes talking about sumertime and how often we'd be back to play at the park.
It was really a lovely day.  I'm sorry I don't have any photos of it to post.  I guess some images are only for my mind :)

In other news, I think Asher has actually started to enjoy solid foods!  This makes mealtimes much more enjoyable.  On the flipside, however, Asher's bowel movements have all but stopped (I would apologize for the blatant discussion of poop, but I am a mother after all, and these are the sort of topics that concern me.  If this bothers you, feel free to stop reading now and we will meet again at some future post).  His favorite things to eat (and my favorite things to feed him) are bits of fresh banana, which are an unfortunate constipation culprit (as are many other recommended first foods, interestingly).  So after doing some research on foods that might help get the plumbing unclogged, Asher dined on pureed prunes mixed with barley cereal.  Let me tell you, this stuff did not look appetizing in the slightest.  It actually looked like something that should have been wiped off his bum rather than spooned into his mouth.  I wonder if other colon-cleansing fare has a similar appearance... like eating something that looks like crap will encourage your body to expel it.  At least Asher ate some of it.  Lets hope it gets things moving a bit better.

Speaking of Asher's diaper area, I think I am going to call the pediatrician Monday (or maybe sooner.  He is a family friend... I could reach him at home if I really wanted to.  We'll just have to wait and see just how much more worried I get over the weekend).  Without going into too much detail, I'm afraid Asher's penis may have been damaged as a result of his circumcision.  It pains me to think that something could be wrong with my baby, especially in such a delicate (and, lets face it, important) area.  What's even worse is the thought that we did it to him needlessly.  But at this point, the only information I've got is what I can see with my own eyes, and what I've researched on the internet.  I know the internet can be a less than reliable source, especially for medical issues, hence my strong desire to be in touch with the pediatrician.  Prayers would be nice...
