i like to spend my mornings (after feeding asher) alone on the computer. timm gets to watch curious george with iris and entertain asher. and i get to drink my coffee and (pretty much) ignore everything else. i tell myself that this is for timm's benefit.. it's the only time he gets to spend with the kids before going to work. but mostly it's for me... the only time i'll get (until 8pm or later) where i don't have to entertain, educate, answer to, discipline, feed, clean, or argue with the children (even when they do go to bed at a decent hour, i'm too exhausted to be able to take advantage or appreciate that unfettered feeling... and also there's the lurking knowledge that the baby will wake up at any moment).
even on timm's days off, i typically ignore what's going on in the living room and piddle around on the computer (like right now) until iris runs in here, sees me on the computer, and demands to play with ms paint (or some crisis occurs and needs mommy's intervention).
today the weather forecasters have predicted an apocalypse of snow. we're still waiting for more than a dusting...
