Party Time, Excellent

Two parties in one day... too much.
I am really over having one huge party with both family and friends for the kids (because not everyone knows each other, and there are way way too many people to cram into one space) so Asher had a lunch party with my family at my parent's house, followed by a dinner party with our friends at our house (he also got a party at Grandma and Grandpa Combs' house when we took our trip to Atlanta, but that's for another post). It really worked out well, but it was so very hot and the kids got so very cranky by the end of the evening. Maybe some day we'll finally get this party thing figured out! Though probably by the time that happens, the kids will be planning their own parties and not wanting me to have anything to do with it. Oh, I can dream...

Asher really enjoyed his cow pops... He enjoyed mooing at them, too.

Blowing out the candles was a bit awkward, but eating the cake pops was a cinch.

Cousin Ellie came, which added to the fun (because otherwise the family party would have been all grown-ups)! She liked the cows too.

And of course, the presents!

Asher absolutely adored the shirt Aunt Ginger and Uncle Bobo got him- he was just taken with the monster on it! He walked around the room and made sure everyone got a good look at it, then insisted on putting it on immediately. It was adorable.

Later, we had friends over at our house. Iris' pal Max came over for a little while and despite not seeing each other in 6 months, they got along like not a day had passed. These two really are peas in a pod. I might have to arrange a marriage someday.

Even though it was incredibly hot out, I insisted on the kids playing outside (and not completely trashing my house). They didn't mind. Kids don't get hot, right? Parents on the other hand... Oh well, it was a fun, if not busy day celebrating the birth of my baby boy :)
