It has rained a lot. Our garage frequently has standing water in it and our basement is one giant puddle. Walking over the carpet, the water splashes up from under my feet. Flip flops are required footwear. I just hope I don't have to throw away the carpet... then our unfinished basement would once again look basically uninhabitable.
Our basement does have a new appliance, though. I am very excited to now have a refrigerator/freezer down there! Oh, the stockpiling bliss I can now have...
I have 6 boxes of Splenda, 8 bottles of body wash, and 7 tubes of toothpaste now in my small stockpile. They cost me nothing but tax (and with the Splenda I actually got $7 worth of store credit when I "bought" it). It feels good to get free stuff!
Asher is becoming quite the talker. He knows his colors and can tell you how old he is, how old Iris is, and tell you all the names of his family members (including his own, which is adorable-- "Ach-er"). For the most part, I can understand just about everything he says, though a lot of interpretation has to come through with context. Especially if a word he is using ends in "ck". Literally everything that ends in "ock" winds up being pronounced, very clearly, "cock". I wish I were joking. Rock, chalk, sock, talk, walk... You name it, it's all "cock". It's hilarious, and embarrassing. It will make a good story to tell his future wife.
